Karen joined ICANN in March 2003 as gTLD Registry Liaison. She works with gTLD registry operators and sponsors on ICANN-related issues and is responsible for coordinating compliance with ICANN's registry and sponsorship agreements. She also served as staff support to the 2003 Nominating Committee, and rejoins the committee this year in that role.

Prior to joining ICANN, Karen worked in publishing, handling various copyright and licensing areas for publications of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). She holds degrees in English and Political Science from Westmont College and a graduate degree in Writing from American University.
